In addition, we offer you a fully packed assortment with all important inline skating components, such as frames, wheels, ball bearings and helmets & protectors for inline skating.

WHICH INLINE SKATES SHOULD I BUY?

To make sure your new skates fit your skating style, you have to ask yourself the question in advance:
WHAT EXACTLY DO I WANT TO DO WITH MY NEW INLINE SKATES?

To help you better classify yourself in a skating category, here is a list of the different skating styles and what makes them different.

INLINE SKATES FOR BEGINNERS

Inliners for beginners always have a brake and are equipped with relatively small wheels. This gives you a flatter and more stable center of gravity, and you can also stop safely.

INLINE SKATES FOR KIDS

Inline skates are a great way for children to develop sensory and motoric skills from an early age. With adjustable inline skates the kids can have fun alone and with friends or family.

FITNESS, RECREATION & TOUR SKATING

Skating for the sake of skating. You enjoy rolling and gliding and ride partly comfortably, partly fast on short to medium tours? Then fitness skates are just the right thing for you.

URBAN- & FREESKATING

The city is your playground. Quick changes of direction and jumps are as much a part of skating as cruising through street canyons? Then Urban- & Freeskates should be your choice.

SPEED SKATING

Speed and distance is everything for you? You set a high value on performance and want to improve your best times with a perfect skating technique? Speed skates give you exactly what you need.

AGGRESSIVE & STUNTSKATING

Skating is more than just riding for you? You want to jump over ramps in skate parks or grind a rail or ledges at a street spot? Aggressive skates are made for that.

SLALOM- & FREESTLYE SKATING

Artful rotations and the playful circling around pylons are your thing? Slalom skates take you further here. With a rockerable frame they provide maximum maneuverability and fun.

NORDIC SKATING

Thanks to the pneumatic tires of nordic skates you can also skate off asphalt roads. You can also train 90% of the muscles in your body by using poles. Off to the woods!

HOCKEY SKATING

Whether with friends on the street or professionally as a team. On hockey skates you can really go for it and the skates offer you a similar riding experience as ice skates.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING INLINE SKATES?

The right size and fitting is the most important when buying new skates! The perfect fit ensures that you will have fun with your new skates in the long run.

The myth of buying inline skates one size bigger is still persisting, so we have explained in our fit guide how to find the right size for your new inline skates.

SOFT- OR HARDBOOT FOR INLINE SKATES?

There is no better or worse, because both systems have advantages and disadvantages. Softboots are light, well ventilated and very comfortable. On the other hand, they are also susceptible to damage in the event of a fall, for example. Hard shells offer a lot of support and are very robust thanks to the plastic shell. But the ventilation is not so good and you have slightly more weight on your foot. Soft boots are very well suited for recreational and long distance skates due to their composition. Hard shells are well suited for urban, freestyle, aggressive and slalom skates.

WHICH SIZE OF WHEELS FOR INLINE SKATES FITS ME BEST?

That depends on your sports field. In general, with larger wheels the speed is easier to maintain and you can reach higher final speeds. In addition, larger wheels glide better over obstacles (e.g. edges and unevenness in the ground). With smaller inline wheels you can accelerate better and they are nicely maneuverable. Furthermore, the overall stand height is lower, which is especially interesting for beginners.

THE HARDNESS OF THE WHEEL

Wheels for inline skates are available in different hardnesses. The degree of hardness is given in SHORE and is indicated by a number and A (e.g. 85A). The higher the number, the harder the wheel is. In simple terms, hard wheels are faster and therefore transmit more vibrations the foot. With soft wheels it is the other way round. They are slower, but also dampen vibrations better.

In our WHEEL-GUIDE you will find all further information on the topic.

INLINE SKATE BEARINGS

Which bearings are good and what should I buy?

After wheels, ball bearings are the most important component when it comes to the running properties of inline skates. Ball bearings are classified in ABEC (Annular Bearing Engineering Committee) with a number from 1-9, which indicates the production tolerances of the individual ball bearings. The higher the number (e.g. ABEC 9), the more precise the tolerances are. Contrary to widespread opinion, the ABEC number is not always an indication of the running characteristics of a ball bearing. This is because another important factor is the quality of the materials used. One of the fastest steel bearings is currently the SKF RACE ABEC 5 bearing.

In our ball bearing guide you will find all further information on this topic.

THREE vs. FOUR WHEELS, WHAT IS BETTER FOR SKATING?

Skates with three wheels, mostly large wheels, are very trendy. That makes sense, especially if you want to cover a lot of distance with your skates. By omitting the fourth wheel, weight can be saved and the setup becoms more turny. Skates with four wheels (up to 84 mm diameter) are an advantage if you have to accelerate frequently or if you want to ride a special rame (rocker or anti-rocker setup).

THE CHANGE FROM 3 TO 4 WHEELS

How easy it is to switch from a four-wheel setup to a three-wheel skate, varies from skater to skater. Since skates with three wheels are often equipped with larger wheels, this also results in a different stand height, so for most skaters a short acclimatization phase is required. Experienced skaters master the skates, then as before the skates with four wheels. How long the acclimatization period is, is individual.

THE RIGHT FRAME LENGHT

When it comes to the the length of the frame you should also consider what you actually want to do with the inline skates. Shorter frames are very agile, but can become unstable at higher speeds (>50km/h) and start to wobble.
Long frames offer smoother running even at high speeds, but are not as agile.

QUICK vs. CLASSIC CLOSURE

This is definitely a matter of taste. Inlineskates with quick release fasteners have the advantage that it is much easier and faster to put on and also to lace up the skates. Especially for recreactional skates quick release fasteners are very useful. Also the kids benefit from quick-release fasteners, as experience shows that children's skates with quick-release fasteners can be laced by the children themselves. Since the pull of a quick release fastener is evenly distributed over the skate, individual lacing is no longer possible. Example: Lacing tightly at the top and leaving it looser in the forefoot area is not possible with a quick release fastener.

A classic lacing is a bit more complicated when putting on and relacing, but here an individual lacing and distribution of pressure is possible. The lacing can be adapted to your own needs. Especially for special foot shapes and for skates that have to offer a lot of stability like speed-, free- or aggressive skates.
