INLINE SKATE LINERS - Inner values are also important in skating

Without a suitable liner, even the best shell is of little use. A good skate or inner shoe must enclose the foot comfortably and at the same time provide sufficient support and stability. This is the only way to ensure optimal power transmission. [read more]

New liners for your old skates

What other features the liner has to offer depends very much on the intended use and the user. Some manufacturers, such as Powerslide, provide their MyFit liners with a special foam that can be thermally deformed. The inner shoe/skate is heated and then the liner is put on while it is still warm. This way, the liner adapts to the individual foot contour and fits like a second skin.

With most hard shell boots, the liner can even be removed. Liners from other manufacturers can then also be used here. In this way, liners that do not fit or are defective can be replaced. However, not every liner necessarily fits every boot.

With soft boots, it is not possible to change the inner boot; therefore, when buying, it is important to ensure an optimal fit. Skates should not be bought too big, otherwise there is a risk of blisters and chafing. It is advisable to use the official manufacturer's Gössen tables. But what should you do if you have already bought skates that are too big or if there are chafing marks in the ankle area? Footies can help here. The neoprene material used provides an additional layer of padding. If required, the footies are also available with Heelloc to prevent the heel from slipping or a donut ring to relieve the ankle or relieve pressure points.

POWERSLIDE MYFIT LINERS

The Powersldie MyFit liners can be thermally molded and customized to the shape of your feet. By heating, the padding of the liner takes on the shape of your feet and improves the comfort and fit of the inline skates.

The adjustment is made according to the following instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 80° degrees
  • Remove the inner shoes from the skate
  • Remove the inner sole (and shock absorber, if applicable)
  • Models with own lacing: loosen laces
  • Place the lienr in the middle of the oven
  • Make sure the liner does not touch any part of the oven (except the rack they are on) and does not fall over
  • Remove the liner after 8-10 minutes
  • Place the insole (and shock absorber if necessary) back in
  • Put the inner shoes into the shell of skates
  • Work quickly but conscientiously here
  • Put on the skates and fasten them a little tighter than usual (lacing, fasteners)
  • Let the inner shoes cool down in the skate sock, sitting on the edge of a chair
  • Make sure that the knees are at about the same level as/above the toes during this
  • After about 6-8 minutes, the inner shoes should be cooled down and adjusted
The MyFit liners now keep the adapted shape. The process can be repeated if necessary. The following video follows these instructions:
